The last movie George Clooney made was in 2010 before he went to the Sudan and was lobbying politicians about the referendum for independence in the Sudan. That movie was called The American.

The American was filmed in Italy and was directed by Anton Corbijn. It's the story of an assassin, named Jack, played by George Clooney who is working in Italy on what he wants to be his last assignment. Of course, he's getting to the age where he is considering his life and is trying to find meaning and a love interest. It's a good movie, but with a predicatable ending.

George Clooney's Humanitarian Work

George Clooney has been in the Sudan lately and promoting peace. He's one of those movie stars that actually does a lot of charity work. His favorite cause is helping the peace movement in the Sudan.

There was a referendum in the Sudan to decide where southern Sudan would separate from the north. He's been in several newscasts speaking about this important world issue. George Clooney has been in the Sudan during this time.

He was trying to help avoid a new war and violence in the Sudan by using his celebrity to get politicians involved in the diplomatic process to help avoid war. He's been trying to get the world focused on the situation. George also got together and arranged a satellite system to watch the potential build up of troops in the Sudan.

While in the Sudan, he caught malarie which he has been treating with the medication you need to cure the disease.

This movie star has been doing a great job with his humanitarian work. George Clooney is a celebrity that cares about the world and does something about it. And he still looks hot.
